New meter mail procedures

The Postal Service is retiring all manually reset electronic meters. This means meter machines can no longer be filled at a local post office as needed. They must now be filled at a lock box in a regional office. The process can take up to five working days. This could delay a metered mailing. There are alternatives though. Customers can wire transfer postage directly to the lockbox. Also, A.M. offers other postage options. An indicia can be inkjet printed or presort stamps can be affixed for a faster postage remedy. For all mailings at A.M. Mailing Services, LLC, postage must be received prior to the mail drop date.

Personalization gets colorful

In direct mail marketing there are many different elements that will improve response. Color ink and multiple personalization are two of them. Put the two together and your response rates could soar.

Personalized copy in color has been available for years. Roll laser printing made multiple personalization with color possible. But, it’s only cost effective on very large run mailings. Digital print technology can handle the color personalization needs for smaller runs. However, it can also be too expensive for all projects. Current inkjet systems have the ability to offer color, but with very limited capabilities.

New technology is now available at A.M. Mailing, with HP laser heads on traditional inkjet systems. This combines the high speed of inkjet with the resolution of laser. The price for personalized color print is now more attractive for both large and small projects.

Multiple HP heads are mounted on our inkjet system to provide three inches of personalized data. Each head can print a different colored ink. Imagine your #10 envelope with the name, address and barcode in black , a personalized teaser message in red and the return address for sales locations in blue...all in one pass. This system can provide 600 dpi imaging with true type fonts and bitmapped graphics too!

The HP system operates in a Windows environment. It allows you to take advantage of all that publishing software has to offer. You can change graphics while incorporating variable text with a fixed message...and you can do it in a wide choice of colors.
